GreenTeamers Podcast Report – The only Boston Celtics Playoff Preview You Need

Well it’s officially official folks. The Boston Celtics, who doggedly pursued and captured the #2 spot in the Eastern Conference have been rewarded with the plum playoff opponent of…the Brooklyn Nets.

Wait! What?!?!?!?!?

After all that ladder climbing, that miraculous mid-season turn around that we here at Hi-Top not only predicted but breathlessly covered on a daily basis, the Celtics have been rewarded with a First Round Playoff series against a team featuring two of the Top 5? Top 10? best basketball players on Planet Rock.

Yeah folks, the first series is not going to be fun.

Here’s the hard truth Ruth – Both Kyrie and KD are two of the best offensive basketball players to ever play in the NBA. That’s not hyperbole. That’s the real deal Holyfield. Either one is capable of going off for 50-60 points without breaking a sweat. Facts is facts and that’s just facts.

On the flip side neither one of those two point scoring supernovas has much, if any, interest in playing defense.

Other pluses – The rest of the Nets aren’t much of a test at best, I guess and that’s no jest.

On the flip side not having Robert Williams suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Other than Taco Jay and JB and maybe Marcus, losing Big Rob hurts the most of any injury on the roster. Obviously the defensive presence he brings is HUGE. But mostly it’s the little things. The offensive rebounds that keep possessions going. The put backs. The passing.

OH MY LORD THE PASSING!!!!!!!

Rob Williams does sooooo much for this team it’s kinda scary.

Obviously Mr. Nice Guy and Big Al are going to have to step up BIG TIME.

What we are looking at here folks is an old school style NBA Playoffs First Round matchup. This is like back in the day when the Big 3 would have to face off against the Dominque and the Hawks in a Mano y Mano battle Royale.

Jayson Tatum, young little 19 year old Jayson Tatum is going to have to put on his Big Boy pants and go toe to toe with two NBA Champs. He’s going to have to go bucket for bucket with two of the best bucket getters in the last 30 years.

And you know what?

Good.

Bring it on!

There’s no easy road to a ‘chip. (Unless you’re LeBron playing in the Bubble). Might as well get to the tough stuff right away. Either you have the right stuff baby

and you’re hangin’ tough

or you don’t. The choice is yours.
